FRC Competition

The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is the top tier program at FIRST intended for high school students. It is highly competitive and gives you the opportunity to build a large scale robot—No legos here. These robots are built out of metal and can stand 5 feet tall. They also use professional grade components and are controlled using a laptop and joystick over WIFI.

The season kicks off each year with a video that explains the rules of that year’s game (See the 2017 video to the right). You then have 6 weeks to build and test your robot. The season culminates with the regional competition where teams from PA, OH, MD, NY, WV & Ontario Canada come together to compete. The event is much like any professional sporting event with loud music, mascots and lots of cheering.
